It's been a long time coming, but it's just been made official: Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show, will make an appearance on this week's edition of Monday Night RAW.

It all started just a few weeks ago: during a late-February taping of Monday Night Raw, WWE Superstar Seth Rollins made a few comments directed at Comedy Central's premier newscaster. Simply put, Rollins believed he would serve as a fine replacement for Stewart as host of The Daily Show once Jon left.

That wasn't all, as there were a few fighting words thrown in for good measure:

It wasn't long before Jon had recorded his own response, taking more than a few digs at Rollins' somewhat underhanded rise through the WWE ranks:

Few expected the spat to go any further than that...until Rollins paid Stewart a 'visit' and 'invited' the host to settle things once and for all on Monday Night Raw:

Now, just a few hours before the show goes live, the WWE has confirmed that Jon Stewart will be making an appearance during tonight's broadcast. Will Stewart simply try to talk things out, or are we looking at the foundation for a match at Wrestlemania 31?

With the WWE's biggest pay-per-view of the year only a few weeks away, it's not so crazy to think that Stewart could make an appearance at the Show of Shows...just don't expect to see him in any sort of real fight.

Monday Night Raw airs Mondays at 8pm on USA.
