There are dozens of amazing directors in Hollywood that could do the X-Men justice. Bryan Singer is currently in the director's chair (and has been for a while now), but the entire franchise could have turned out much differently if someone else was in his place. Fans already got a taste of such a possibility with X-Men 3...and the less said about that, the better.

There's a long list of directors that fans would love to see take over the franchise, but it's easy to assume that Wes Anderson isn't one of them. The director's known for relatively tame romantic comedy/dramas and oddball humor, not action and explosions.

Then again, there's a lot of awkward romance and coming-of-age stories in the X-Men comics - maybe Anderson isn't that strange a choice after all:

Let's be perfectly honest: that was pretty good.

It's surprising to see so many of Anderson's tropes overlaid with something like the X-Men: it's not something people would put together on their own, but watching the video shows how it could actually work.

Granted, the chances of seeing Magneto in a scarf and writing books on the big screen are pretty slim. On top of that, the fan response to X-Men 3 was bad, but just imagine how much worse it would be if Anderson took over - that sort of thing could spark an actual revolution.

For now, maybe it's best to let Bryan Singer do his thing. Of course, if X-Men: Apocalypse falls through, at least fans now have a decent back-up! After all, anything's better than Brett Ratner...
