Video gamers all around the globe are extremely impressed by Evolve by Turtle Rock Studios and 2K Games. Now, in a gesture of appreciation, the developer and publishing team announced a new game mode that will be free on all platforms.

Called "Observer Mode," the new community feature Evolve is unveiling will offer players the tools to observe and add commentary while playing the asymmetrical first-person shooter. “We are fully committed to our community,” the makers of the game wrote in a blog, “never breaking you apart from your friends based on what content you own, and always looking for ways to hook our players up with things like free community features.”

In addition to having access to such tools, players will be able to observe, add commentary and livestream all the ferocious action that comes with 4-vs.-1 matchmaking. Even cooler in "Observer Mode" is the ability for a sixth player to enter into a custom game and seamlessly switch to view any of the five players in the match. Information such as real-time updates, player health and vitals, survival odds, perks and a minimap appear on a HUD for viewing.

This community feature allows interested players to bypass the need for purchasing expensive streaming equipment. “All you’ll need is a copy of the game, a gamepad, or a mouse, and a keyboard,” the makers of Evolve say in the aforementioned blog post.

For those unfamiliar with the game, four player-controlled Hunters are tasked with destroying an alien Monster. Said creature is actually controlled by a fifth player. With the Hunters going after the Monster, the Monster must either destroy a human base or power plant or kill all four Hunters. Evolve features a variety of lush maps, one of which is a large jungle, making each match an adrenaline-fueled rush of mayhem.

The highly rated video game has been out for almost a month now, and the addition of this "Observer Mode" aims to increase the awesomeness to those who have yet to hear about it. To double-down on Turtle Rock Studios and 2K Games’ announcement, Evolve will run a special pre-recorded livestream showcasing "Observer Mode" in action on March 5 at 3 p.m. PT.

Hardcore Evolve fans can tune in Friday as the Evolve ESL Pro-Am team will be broadcasting their efforts in an eight-team single elimination tournament live from PAX East from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. PT.
