The first full trailer of Marvel's upcoming Netflix Original series Daredevil has finally hit the web, and fans are extremely excited. The trailer is quite interesting because it shows an entirely different side of Marvel, one we haven't seen for years.

The first extensive look at Hell's Kitchen shows a place that is similar to Gotham, with crime spiraling out of control. As expected, it will take the bravery of one man to help keep things under control. Who is better for this job than a blind lawyer who goes by the name of Matt Murdock by day and Daredevil by night?

Our hero is also known as "The Man Without Fear," and for good reasons. However, he's not the only person in Hell's Kitchen who lacks fear, for there is another, and he is known as The Kingpin.

The Kingpin is the central villain in the Daredevil comics. He should be seen as Daredevil's version of The Joker, only more serious and calculated. His main trait is his ruthlessness and strength, and also because he's basically a Godfather in Hell's Kitchen's crime syndicate.

From what we can tell from the trailer, Kingpin will spill a lot of blood, and unlike other Marvel shows, the gore will be visible. We also see Murdock himself laying waste to several bad guys in ways that will have children running to mommy. Clearly this show is not for the Disney kids, but despite that, it is still part of the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Warner Bros. and DC need to watch out because Marvel is making a big play for the small screen. In the past, Marvel did not show much interest in going dark, but with the latest Daredevil trailer, Marvel might end up doing dark much better than Warner and DC.

Should Daredevil turn out to be a successful series, we wouldn't mind if Marvel returned the franchise to the big screen. There's a lot of potential here for great things, and we'd love to see it brought to life with a larger budget.

Daredevil will hit Netflix in April, and after that, several other Marvel shows that will eventually bring forth a team similar to the Avengers.
