Samsung is gearing up for the release of their latest flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, slated to occur on April 10. Prior to the said date, a lot of promotional gimmicks had been underway, which only showed how much anticipation the two devices have brought about.

After unveiling a litany of accessories for the devices a few days ago, Samsung is now focusing on the "premium-minded" customers as it announces the smartphones' new premium versions. Apart from the metal-and-glass chassis, both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are said to come in 24-karat Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum variants.

All three new options have been designed by Goldgenie and will cost around $2,500. Goldgenie anticipates there will be a high demand for the luxury customized Galaxy devices. These devices can be pre-ordered from March 20 to April 7. The first shipment will fall anywhere between 14 and 21 days after the launch.

In these latest flagship devices, Samsung has noticeably dropped the familiar plastic casing of their handsets in exchange for a premium glass and metal build. The result is definitely spectacular, particularly with the S6 Edge with its curved glass front. Not only does it account for the phone's aesthetic appeal - it also fulfills a significant feature known as "People Edge."

With this feature, the user can choose five of his favorite contacts and see these at a glance on the phone's edge. This way, the user can easily pull up one contact by a simple "finger screen swiping" gesture. Each contact is also assigned a color, which makes it easier for the user to know who is calling even when the phone is placed face-down.

Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be available in Black Sapphire, White Pearl and Gold Platinum versions. For those who want a touch of uniqueness, they can choose the Blue Topaz variant, which is an exclusive version of the Galaxy S6.

Likewise, the Galaxy S6 Edge will be the only one to have a Green Emerald variant. Of course, die-hard Samsung collectors can opt to have all of the available versions, including the three new variants announced recently.

"Our craftsmen were the first in the world to achieve a 24K Gold embellishment finish on the polycarbonate surface of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Alpha models, and Laban Roomes was proud to present a 24K Gold Samsung Galaxy S5 to 'Selma' star and revered British actor David Oyelowo at the Uptown Pre-Oscars event in Hollywood earlier this year," said Goldgenie.

It should also be noted that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge handsets are also coming with a high-speed wireless charger and increased storage capacities of 64GB and 128GB.
