Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is Black Adam in the 2019 movie Shazam. We expect him to be the antagonist of the film, who is destined to go up against the young hero Shazam.

Over the past couple of months, Johnson has been revealing bits and pieces of what fans should expect from Shazam and his character. Just recently in an interview with IGN, The Rock made it clear that there's a chance Black Adam could show up in The Justice League movies.

Johnson did not specify which one, but he did talk about whether or not Black Adam will become a member of the team.

From what Johnson had to say, we can summarize that Black Adam will be an anti-hero. He will likely kick things off as a villain since that is the original storyline of the character. Later on in the comics, he would tend to lend a hand to the Justice League now and again when the Earth is in grave danger.

In the comics, Black Adam has his own people to look after in the modern age, so the destruction of Earth is not in his best interest.

We're suspecting if Johnson has to join The Justice League movie project, he would only do so for a short time until a dangerous task has been completed.

The Shazam movie is set to hit theaters in 2019, but Johnson once revealed that it could come sooner. We're guessing he could show up in The Justice League for a short time then in Shazam in 2018, but that is if the 2019 date is changed.

Now, if he doesn't appear in the first film, he could make an appearance in part two of The Justice League in 2019.

"I think you always want to leave that creatively open, that he could join the Justice League, and I think ... that's the fun part of creating this character right now and everybody involved, from the studio, from New Line, to Warner Bros as well, to the writer, our producing partners," Johnson said.

"You definitely want to engage in his heroic side, but that has to be earned and with the mythology of Black Adam starting off as a slave - because when you start off as a slave, just inherently, there's things in your DNA that piss you off. And that's the bottomline," he added.

The depth of Black Adam's character - especially the very root of his back story - is so integral to his rise as an anti-hero, and Johnson seems to understand this very well.

"I think we have to respect and pay homage to the true mythology and then the heroic side will come down the line, but I think it's important and we all feel it's important ... to make sure the homage is paid at the beginning because then you have a stronger foundation to stand on, and so he will become an anti-hero, but at first ... daddy's got to go to work."
