An Australian couple received the surprise of their lives when their wedding was crashed by none other than their favorite singer — Ed Sheeran.

The British singer, who has even written songs for boy band One Direction, turned wedding singer at the couple's wedding by singing their favorite song, "Thinking Out Loud."

So, how did this transpire, you ask?

Kya and Matt Debono were set to get married when a tragedy occurred and they were forced to put their wedding plans aside. The couple was gearing up to invite guests to their reception when the bride's mother committed suicide. The wedding was put on hold indefinitely.

Kya was not only dealing with her mum's death but also supporting Matt and their two kids as he was unemployed.

With their savings going towards Kya's mom's funeral, Matt, who wanted to give his fiancée the best wedding possible, contacted radio station KIIS 106.5. The couple went on the show and shared their story with hosts Kyle and Jackie O. They were subsequently surprised by a $60,000 dream wedding by the hosts, which went to include everything from the wedding dress to the honeymoon.

However, the surprises from KIIS 106.5 for the lucky couple didn't end there, as Kyle and Jackie O had another coup up their sleeve. During Matt and Kya's wedding ceremony in Sydney at The Waterfront Function Centre, the couple was preparing for their first dance on their chosen song, "Thinking Out Loud," by Ed Sheeran. The couple was shocked when the singer himself showed up to perform the song for their first dance. No cover versions, no sound tracks — Ed Sheeran in flesh himself singing the song as the elated couple danced away to the music.

"Happy wedding day," said Sheeran to the stunned couple as he performed with only with his guitar as company.

The wedding guests too looked on amazed and teary-eyed as the magical wedding for the Sydney couple unfolded.
