You know how Walt Disney Studios has been churning out all of those live-action reboots of its classic animated films lately? You've got your Cinderella, which was recently released in theaters, Maleficent arrived in theaters in May 2014 and there was Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland in March 2010.

Those were all fine and dandy, but do you know what Disney animated feature no one wants to see become a live-action film? Bambi. Or at least that's what I thought before Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's turn in a gritty reboot of the classic animated movie about a young deer's adventures in the forest during his hosting stint on the March 28 episode of Saturday Night Live. Now I'm kind of thinking a live-action Bambi reboot wouldn't be such a bad idea after all.

As you might have guessed, this ain't your mother's Bambi. The Disney animated film is way darker and more action packed with perennial action hero Johnson at the helm.

In this version, the death of Bambi's mother, who was shot and killed by a hunter, spurs his quest for justice during hunting season. Yeah, he's going to have a gun in each hand and a cigar dangling from his mouth throughout most of the film as he still dons a furry vest, pointy ears and a red mop on his head, because he's still a dear, you know.

However, if you've seen any of the Fast and the Furious movies, in which Johnson has starred in the last three installments, then you've basically seen the live-action Bambi reboot. Johnson gets a little help from his friends as Vin Diesel takes on the role of Thumper, Tyrese Gibson plays Flower and Michelle Rodriguez portrays Faline, "a.k.a. the girl Bambi." And Ludacris performs the official song of the film, "Wham, Bam, Bambi," but of course.

If Disney ever decided to make a live-action Bambi IRL, I would actually be OK with it turning out like this.
