It's been barely a couple of weeks since AT&T pushed out the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 4 and now the U.S. carrier is rolling out yet another software update for the smartphone - albeit a minor one.

On Tuesday, April 14, Samsung and AT&T released the minor software update for the Galaxy Note 4, which brings bug fixes and several new tweaks users' way such as an updated Private Mode and Emergency Dial fix.

Since updates and new features such as lock screen notifications, Material Design, Screen Pinning, Smart Lock, Multi-user, Android Runtime, improved battery statistics, dynamic status bar etc. were patched in the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop software update release by AT&T in March, this new firmware brings small changes.

The software update is an over-the-air (OTA) one and weighs 142MB. However, those hoping for the update to be Android 5.1 Lollipop can hold on to their horses as the operating system version for the AT&T Galaxy Note 4 will remain unchanged to Android 5.0.1.

Despite the update being just 142MB, users will be required to download it only via WiFi. Post the update, the phone's build number will change to LRX22C.N910AUCU1COC4.

Here are some of the features that the latest software update from the network operator for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will bring per the AT&T changelog.

- Update to Private Mode settings

- An EAS fix for encryption bypass

- Removal of Softcard, which is a payment service

- Google Security Patches

- Emergency Dial fix pertaining to Lookout & Mobile Locate

While AT&T has released the minor software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, it may be a few days before the update is available for download for the network operators' Galaxy Note 4 owners as it will be pushed out in phases.

Once the update is available to Galaxy Note 4 users on AT&T for download, it is advised that one backs up their data prior to updating their devices. To manually check if you have received the update go to Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates.
