Bungie has released a patch update for Destiny – a 6-GB download for PlayStation 4 users, and 4.3 GB for those on Xbox One – which essentially preps players for the upcoming House of Wolves expansion. While the DLC won't drop until May 19, the update reveals what players can expect when it does arrive.

Details about the expansion were first leaked on Reddit about two months ago. A Japanese user was apparently able to access part of the game content for House of Wolves, and thereby view a part of the story and vendor armor and weapons. With patch 1.1.2 in place, more details have been revealed, giving players a better sense of what the House of Wolves DLC will offer.

For starters, there will be two social spaces. One will be in Reef, called "Queen's Bay," while the other is named "Halls of Amentet," on Mercury. Queen's Bay allows bounties to be collected in Reef, new allegiances to be formed and experience to be gained in the "Trials of Osiris" and the "Prison of Elders" events. Surviving Trials of Osiris is important — doing so gives a player access to the Halls of Amentet, a three-player social spot.

A new Weekly Heroic/Nightfall strike will also be available. "The Shadow Thief" takes place on the Moon, where players have to board Taniks-Syn's Ketch and eliminate him — unless they want him to continue cutting a "trail of death across the system."

There will be three story missions: "A Joining of Houses," "An Army of Wolves" and "The World Ravager." A Joining of Houses endeavors the assassination of the Wolves' baron, while An Army of Wolves aims to find the House of Wolves — killing them before Skolas, their Kell, is able to convince the Fallen House of Winter to join his side. The World Ravager still features Skolas with the goal of stopping the Kell before he destroys the Vex citadel on Venus.

The update makes three quests available as well – Dark Raider, Duel of the Silent Fang and Wolves' Gambit – while in the raid, a "combat arena pits Guardian Fireteams against the solar system's deadliest enemies."

At least three PVP maps can also be expected, with about 46 ship schematics rounding up the patch. Some of the included schematics are for the Manus Celer Dei, the Glass Minuet, No End Theory, Permission to Stop, The Worldbreaker, Silent Verdict and Omit the Legend.
