HTC, like Samsung is going to follow the same smartphone launch plans as it did last year and will introduce an HTC One M8 Mini, Swedish carrier Telia says.

Samsung deserves credit for spinning off devices from its flagship smartphone. When the company's Galaxy S3 became a huge hit for the company, Samsung decided to introduce a smaller variant that it aptly named, the Galaxy S3 Mini. The miniature smartphone took on the Galaxy S3's design and some of its features and instantly created the "mini" smartphone category.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy S4 Mini last summer alongside the Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy S4 Active. We just reported that Samsung will once again introduce similar devices, with the Galaxy S5 Active, Galaxy S5 Zoom, and Galaxy S5 Mini all leaking in the last couple of days. The Galaxy S5 Mini won't be the only smaller version of a flagship smartphone introduced to customers in the near future. HTC will reportedly follow up last year's HTC One Mini with this year's HTC One M8 Mini.

The news comes from a pretty reliable source and it still has the information proudly posted on its site. Swedish wireless carrier, Telia posted a list of smartphones that are capable of HD Voice. When you get to HTC's area, both the M8 and M8 mini are listed.

HTC launched the original HTC One Mini last September and the device capitalized on the build and design of the full-size HTC One. HTC One M8 Mini rumors began to pick up in the last few weeks. The HTC One M8 Mini is believed to be packing a not so mini 720p 4.5-inch display and will reportedly be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The device is expected to include 16GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64GB microSD cards.

The HTC One M8 Mini is said to use to 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. It will run the all-new HTC Sense 6.0 on top of Android 4.4.2. The smartphone is expected to be released sometime this summer.
