This week saw the stunning conclusion of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's "Endgame" story arc with Batman #40. We gave it a five star review and went as far as to call it essential reading for any Batman fan. But now that "Endgame" has come to an end, what's next for the Caped Crusader under this now legendary creative team?

A brand new suit, for starters. Come issue #41, Bruce Wayne will no longer be Batman, and a new costumed hero will step into a crazy anime-inspired Batsuit to protect the citizens of Gotham City. Naturally, fans have a ton of questions about the future of Batman under Snyder and Capullo, so the two took control of DC's Twitter account to answer any and all fan questions under #Batmanchat. Here are some of the details we learned from public Q&A.

Batman #39 and #40 spoilers below! You have been warned!

Right off the bat (ha), the duo tackled one of the most frequently asked fan questions in recent months: when will Snyder and Capullo's Batman run come to an end? Even Snyder and Capullo aren't sure, but what they do know is they still have stories they want to tell. The two are playing it by ear.

With that out of the way Snyder and Capullo went on to answer a number of questions revolving around future characters they would like to work on as well as addressing some of the aftermath from "Endgame." For example, might we see the return of Cassandra Cain as Batgirl?

The pair also discussed poor Alfred. What is to become of Batman's butler, now that he has lost a hand and a Dark Knight to look after? Perhaps he will become a pirate? Or maybe Nightwing?

Jokes aside, Snyder and Capullo did give a few details about what fans can maybe expect in Batman's future, mostly teasing that the two are cooking up some new villains after Joker's apparent death in #40. Various books will be dealing with the aftermath of Bruce's "death" as well, such as the next issue of Justice League.

We also learned the two are big fans of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. When asked what his favorite Batman story was, Capullo responded with Dark Knight Returns. It just so happens DC announced a third installment in Miller's Batman series, titled The Dark Knight Returns 3: The Master Race, last week. And not only is Capullo a fan, but his partner Snyder may be involved with the project. When asked about a rumor that had Snyder working with Miller on the upcoming mini-series, Snyder simply had this to say:

It's an exiting time to be a Batman fan, in no small part thanks to the stellar work Snyder and Capullo have done since the New 52 Batman relaunch. With Batman v. Superman, The Dark Knight Returns 3 and a crazy new Batman status quo in Batman #41, there is certainly plenty to be excited about.
