Is there a more anticipated game than Fallout 4? Okay, maybe Half-Life 3, but still. Despite not even being officially announced, fans absolutely cannot wait for the latest installment in Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPG franchise. It has been 5 long years since Fallout: New Vegas released and seven years since Bethesda's own Fallout 3. The franchise is long overdue for a new installment.

Rejoice, then, because it seems like the stars just might be aligning for E3 2015 to be the moment Fallout 4 is officially announced. Here are four reasons why we think this year's show is primed and ready for a return to the world of ghouls, super mutants and Pip-Boys.

We Are Pretty Sure The Game Exists, Even If Bethesda Hasn't Officially Confirmed It

Keeping something as huge as Fallout 4 completely under wraps is no easy task. Though Bethesda has done a remarkable job keeping the title a secret, there have been a few slip ups over the past several years that seem to confirm that Fallout 4 is indeed in production.

The first was way back in January 2013, when actor Erik Todd Dellums took to Twitter to tease more from his Fallout 3 character "Three Dog," everybody's favorite post-apocalyptic radio DJ. The voice actor then went on to say he was given permission by Bethesda to make the tease, and that he had his "fingers crossed" more Three Dog was on the way.

Then in December of 2013 fans got another sneak peak. Video game news site Kotaku acquired supposedly leaked casting call documents for Fallout 4, documents which seem to indicate the game may take place in the Boston/ New England area. That's really all we know about the game so far, but it's enough to make most fans assume Fallout 4 is on the way.

It Has Been Four Years Since Bethesda Softworks' Last Game

The last game by Bethesda Softworks was the critically acclaimed and much beloved Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. That was back in 2011, and we haven't heard a peep from Bethesda Softwork since. Making a quality game takes time, and three-five years of work isn't uncommon in the industry. It seems safe to assume the studio is hard at work on another game; the two most obvious candidates being Fallout 4 or Elder Scrolls VI.

But with the Elder Scrolls Online having already released on PC and the console version coming this summer, it seems more likely Bethesda would put its primary development team on Fallout 4, rather than divide the attention of the Elder Scrolls fanbase with two Elder Scrolls games at once. More than four years later, it seems like the perfect time to unveil a new game.

Bethesda Is Holding Its First E3 Press Conference Ever

From the moment Bethesda announced it would be holding its first ever E3 press conference, fans couldn't contain their excitement. Surely this must mean Fallout 4 will be at E3! And fans are probably right. Chances are high, if for no other reason than Bethesda does not have enough officially-announced games to host its own press conference. Elder Scrolls Online is releasing this summer on console and might get a shout out, and the publisher also has the upcoming free-to-play title Battlecry as well as the next game in the Doom franchise.

Expect at least one or two new game announcements from Bethesda at the show, and our money is on at least one being Fallout 4. A new rumor from European gaming site PC Games says Bethesda will indeed show off the game at the end of their press conference before showing off a 20-30 minute gameplay demo to the press behind closed doors. Whether or not this is true is hard to say, but it definitely wouldn't be too surprising.

We All Want It Really, Really Bad

At the end of the day, the video game industry is a business, and businesses exist to make money. Bethesda knows this, and Bethesda also knows the insane levels of hype for Fallout 4. The game doesn't even officially exist, yet every rumor or mention of Fallout 4 on the web is a surefire way to rack up thousands of page views. Thanks for that, by the way.

Bethesda would be downright dumb if it wasn't working on Fallout 4....which is exactly why it's happening. At the end of the day, the best reason Fallout 4 is probably going to be announced at E3 2015 is because legions upon legions of Fallout hungry gamers are waiting for it. If announced it will, without question, steal the show: which is exactly what Bethesda wants. Expect Fallout 4 to be officially announced soon. And if it isn't? Well, there is always next year.
