The best things in life are free, so the cliché goes. Gamers, heads up! Here is something free that shouldn't be missed.

Square Enix Ltd., said to be one of the world's most influential providers of digital entertainment content, has decided to give away a free play for its Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in beta, prior to its official launch on April 14 and released on Sony's Next Gen platform.

"From April 4-7 everyone will be able to join the last rehearsal before the show starts. All you need to do is access the PlayStation Store, search for Final Fantasy and install the beta (please uninstall the first beta client before doing so, should you still have it installed)," Hergen Thaens of Square Enix said in the blog post.

While it's true that the test is in beta mode, he assured nothing has changed in the game that everyone continues to enjoy because the beta is on live servers.

He has also announced of its Collector's Edition, too, which offers many benefits. For instance, are the security token that will help make your account more safe and secure from hacking and the Fat Chocobo mount.

As if to tease even more, Thaens also added that accounts that have a security token can set a teleport destination of their choosing and starting then on teleport there, again, for free.

As if it's not enough, he also said that every owner of FFXIV Collector's Edition, whether in PC or PS3, would also get the in-game items. Early access to the game a weekend prior to the official release will also be given to those who pre-ordered the game or to those who already have an active account. That way, gamers can begin to build their character, get a head start and start making friends from all parts of the globe.

There's a free upgrade of the account, too, from PS3 to PS4, so gamers can have more fun with the improved graphics and performance without shelling another penny to buy an additional copy.

To those who are new to the world of MMO betas, here are a few tips that might help.

First, to those planning to buy the final retail version of the game, grab the beta now because that will also serve as the game's official client if and when a few updates get applied at the official launch.

Second, anything a gamer does in the brief weekend beta will be transferred to the retail launch.

Third, the gamer playing it on PS3 or PC can drag the character over to the PS4 version and still continue the game there - and this is for free until December 31, 2014.
