Legends of Tomorrow is the newest DC show coming on The CW. In it, there's a character who goes by the name of Rip Hunter, and he's part of a group that calls itself the Time Masters.

The Time Masters are time travelers from the future and, from what we have seen in the trailer, it appears as if Eobard Thawne is or was a member because we see him in a machine that seems to be taking him back home.

Then again, there's a chance he might have stolen it from Rip Hunter in order to get back to his own timeline.

What is certain about the Time Masters at this point is that they are good guys, and they want to put an end to Vandal Savage and his reign of tyranny across time.

We're going to take a look at the Time Masters from the point of view of the comics to see what they are actually capable of.

Who are the Time Masters:

Not much is known about the team, but right now we do know that this team is no longer active. Members, apart from Rip Hunter, who is team leader, include Cave Carson, Doctor Will Magnus, who is the creator of the Metal Men, Dr. Fate, the Viking Prince, Arion, and several others.

The team usually goes after immortal warlords, such as Vandal Savage and the Illuminati.

We're not sure if DC plans to reboot the comic series about the team since it made no appearance in the New 52. The list of comic books that are bound to come out after DC's Convergence does not include Time Masters, so right now everything is up in the air.

We can only hope that one day Time Masters becomes a regular comic book issue and not just something slightly relevant to Legends of Tomorrow.

For now, we can do nothing but take the wait and see approach and hope that DC reopens the locker and brings Time Masters back to the forefront.
