While drop tests are a good way to figure out the durability of smartphones, these tests have become a bit too common.

Dropping expensive devices onto the floor is not really a good idea, but it is an easy one, which means that review websites can do these drop tests with ease if they choose to do so.

This is probably why the people at dbrand, which is a company that makes cases and skins for smartphones, decided to try something else.

Samsung's latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6 Edge, is known for having a metal design with a curved screen. It is a sleek and powerful device, but it is not something that you would call tough.

Instead of having the smartphone go through a drop test, people of dbrand decided to call in Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy to help them with a new test wherein the Galaxy S6 Edge will be the target of a powerful Desert Eagle pistol.

Using a Phantom Flex 4K camera to film the shot, the video shows the Galaxy S6 Edge being totally destroyed by the bullet of the Desert Pistol. It might be painful for some to see such an expensive device be wasted by a semi-automatic pistol, but the video itself is very entertaining.

"This is mostly a showcase of some of the greatest camera equipment on the planet capable of capturing moments often missed by the human eye," said Hilsenteger.

The slow motion capture of the camera catches the intricate details of the Galaxy S6 Edge's destruction as the bullet hits the device. In addition, while there have already been other videos of smartphones being shot at, it is rare to see a smartphone being completely shattered upon receiving a bullet.

The top-rated comment on the video said that viewers should watch the action more than one time to be able to catch and appreciate all the details of the Galaxy S6 Edge's fate.

There are currently swirling rumors that Samsung will be releasing the Galaxy S6 Active, a rugged version of the company's latest flagship smartphone that will feature a screw-supported case. Will Hilsenteger and dbrand also decide to put a Desert Eagle bullet through this device when it is released?
