So, let's get this straight. The Los Angeles Clippers score a wild seven-game series win over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs during the playoffs' first round just to blow a 3-1 series lead — only to be eliminated by the Houston Rockets in the second round?

Yes, their 113-100 Game 7 loss to the Rockets on Sunday capped a monumental playoff collapse, resuscitating talks of a Clippers curse. Listen — we would usually find discussions about a curse silly, but when you blow a 3-1 lead after defeating the Spurs, you just might be cursed.

Everyone from Blake Griffin to Doc Rivers is weighing in on the Clippers' curse.

Here's Blake's reaction:

"The Clipper curse, when I first got here was No. 1 picks getting hurt, not working out, their draft picks not working out, not making the playoffs, not having winning seasons," Griffin told ESPN

"No one talked about not getting past the second round. Not a single soul talked about that, but now, that's what everybody talks about. Just like the last one, we're going to bust through this one."

And here's what Doc had to say:

Doc Rivers on the 'Clippers Curse': "We're going to break this. It's my goal. It's why I came here. I thought we had it." - Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) May 17, 2015

It's bad enough that the Clippers share the same arena – Staples Center – and city of Los Angeles with the Lakers and are permanently stuck in their shadow. Blown opportunities like this definitely do not help. Clippers' All-Star point guard Chris Paul was so dejected with the loss that he was reduced to quoting Ricky Bobby.

Chris Paul: "Like Ricky Bobby said, 'If you're not first, you're last.'" - Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) May 17, 2015
Chris Paul: "So close. I don't even know what that means anymore... Getting close ain't good enough." - Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) May 17, 2015

Being cursed isn't an excuse, either. Then again... it would more than explain this embarrasing meltdown. Better luck next time.
