As summer approaches, more rumors and speculation are swirling around the release of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 5. Here's a roundup of the latest expectations regarding the Note 5, including rumored specs, pricing, release date and more.

Samsung is well into the launch of its latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, and now consumers and pundits are turning to the anticipated release of their larger flagship cousin, the Galaxy Note 5. The Galaxy Note 4, released last September, was Samsung's most successful Galaxy Note yet, and its companion, the Galaxy Note Edge, introduced a unique curved display on one side that set the stage for the dual-sided curved display Galaxy S6 Edge.

While the specs of the new Galaxy Note 5 are of course unconfirmed and Samsung is still reportedly in the testing stage, rumors point to an upgraded Exynos processor, a quad-HD or Ultra HD display and new camera features that include exposure controls similar to those included on Apple's latest iPhones.

Expectations for the timing of the Galaxy Note 5 release first centered around the usual September launch until last month, when some reports indicated a late July release might be in the cards in order to precede the release of Apple's upcoming iPhone 6s Plus. Samsung squashed this rumor, and now, the most credible rumors are centered around September, with the unveiling expected to take place at IFA, which kicks off on Sept. 4 in Berlin.

The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to be released in numerous regions worldwide, and leaked model numbers for the U.S. already indicate that Verizon and AT&T are slated to carry the device. This is no surprise as both networks currently carry the Note series along with Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular, all of which are a good bet to feature the Note 5 as well. Pricing details are unclear, but expect a similar price point to the current Note devices, which start at $299.99 with a two-year contract. A Galaxy Note 5 Edge is expected but not confirmed, and rumor has it that features other than its display will differ from those of the Note 5, and it will probably be priced higher than its sibling.

As always, we'll continue to bring you all the latest news and information about the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release as it emerges.
