Skylanders fans, rejoice! Two iconic characters which undoubtedly hold meaning in your hearts will be crossing over and doing battle in the Skylands. None other than Donkey Kong and Bowser, the icons will be geared up and ready to battle it out in the upcoming "Skylanders SuperChargers" game.

The two characters will remain familiar with their signature vehicles and powers in the toy-to-life game. As the Skylanders series of games has always been popular among Nintendo platforms, it was a natural progression for these two iconic characters to finally make a cross-over.

The announcement of the collaboration was announced last Tuesday during the E3 Gaming Convention in Los Angeles.

In addition to being new additions to "Skylanders SuperChargers," just like any other Amiibo, they can be played in select Nintendo games simply by turning their bases.

Donkey Kong will have the ability to execute barrel throws and exploding bongos, while Bowser will have the ability to breathe fire, command Koopas, summon Warp Pipes and other new moves for both Nintendo characters.

Nintendo of America's President, Reggie Fils-Aime, feels that it was a match that was a long time coming.

"It looks like turbo-charged Donkey Kong was meant to be in that Skylander environment... It's magical... The care and creative capability that came across in making this happen is what is so wonderful about Activision and Nintendo working together," he said.

As characters in "SuperChargers," players can use them to speed across the Skylands in exciting vehicular combat. Activision says new areas will allow players to engage in aerial dogfights, race down roaring rapids and barrel-roll through enemy swarms.

Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and his signature vehicle, the Barrel Blaster will come packaged with the SuperChargers Starter Pack for Wii U.

Meanwhile, Hammer Slam Bowser, on his vehicle, Clown Cruiser, will come with the pack made for the Wii and 3DS.

The new game, as well as the starter packs with the new characters, will be available in stores all over the United States on Sept. 20.
