As if we needed any further proof LG was getting ready to launch its new flagship LG G3 smartphone, the company just confirmed the news in an earnings press release.

Samsung and HTC have both released their flagship smartphones of 2014 and now we're waiting for another highly anticipated Android handset to be released. We've been reporting new details on the LG G3 on an almost daily basis. Images recently leaked showing the smartphone's updated UI and new 'concierge service.'

Sprint spilled the beans on the LG G3's entire spec sheet via a User Agent Profile the carrier has posted on its site. As if all of there reports weren't enough clues the G3 will be announced in the very near future, LG confirmed the smartphone for the first time in its just-released earnings press release, "Kigher revenues are expected in the second quarter with the release of the flagship LG G3 smartphone," states the relese. The time line would place the release of the LG G3 as some time in May or June. Many reports have claimed LG will introduce the smartphone at an event in May.

The LG G3 will be the first smartphone to introduce a major feature none of its rivals offer. The handset will reportedly ship with a 5.5-inch Ultra HD display with a jaw dropping resolution of 1440 x 2560. When it comes to what kind of processor will power the LG G3, a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor will do the heavy lifting, along with 2GB of RAM.

LG will reportedly use a high-end 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), dual-LED Flash, and a 2.4-megapixel front facing camera for video chat. Users should expect to find 32GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128GB microSD cards. It will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and LG's new UI, which feature flatter icons, widgets, and a new 'concierge service' that will reportedly rival Google Now.

Now that LG has publicly confirmed the LG G3's existence, we should begin to hear more details leading up to its release, stay tuned.
