Samsung's flagship Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 smartphones may not have a rosy sales estimate for 2015 - estimated at 45 million units - the Theme Service launched by the South Korean company for its new smartphones has struck the right chord with users.

Samsung launched the Themes support for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Judging by the numbers, it seems the feature has amassed immense popularity with global users in this short period.

"Customize your Samsung Galaxy S6 with a Galaxy theme. Each one comes with a thoughtfully designed set of wallpaper, icons and details," per Samsung.

Users have downloaded over 600 million themes for both the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6! The word comes straight from the horse's mouth as Samsung Korea revealed the milestone in an official blog post.

"Themes service has been launched with the S6 edge has surpassed 600 million downloads slip (translated)," revealed the company in a blog post.

According to Samsung Tomorrow blog, the crown for the most popular theme in Samsung's home country goes to "Avengers: Iron Man."

Users in China have taken a shine to the Urban theme, while Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users in the U.S. seem partial to Forest, followed by Avengers: Iron Man and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Another popular category is the Bright pastel color one, which is a hit with users in South Korea. The varying preferences of global users when it comes to themes is only too evident; for instance users in India are partial to simple themes with clean lines that are not cluttered and sans too many distracting design elements. The popular theme in the region is the BMW i8.

Globally, the top five most downloaded themes from Samsung for the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6 are as follows:

With Samsung slated to start publishing themes from third parties as well in the near term, the feature seems poised to grow in popularity.
