If you own a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, you'll be happy to know the carrier has released its Android 5.1 Lollipop update. It's available as an OTA (over the air) update and includes UI enhancements, factory reset protection and "new and/or enhanced features."

Samsung is wasting no time in releasing Android 5.1 Lollipop software updates for its flagship smartphone duo, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Most recently, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular sent out an OTA Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, which happens to be the latest and greatest version of Android available, to owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on its network.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have become extremely popular with consumers, thanks to Samsung's change in design aesthetics in its latest smartphones. Rather than continue its love of cheap plastic in its premium smartphones, Samsung focused on the materials and feel of the device as much as the powerful specs it is known for not skimping on. Smartphones are one of the most personal things we use on a daily basis, and more and more consumers are placing design and feel at the top of their list when looking for a new smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge feature a premium glass and metal design that has been extremely well received.

Samsung knows that consumers also want to purchase Android smartphones from manufacturers that provide major OS updates as soon as possible, especially on flagship smartphones, and it's clear Samsung wants to keep Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners happy.

Sprint has announced that its Android 5.1 Lollipop software update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge is now available for download. The OTA update is about 570 MB and can manually be updated by going into Settings > About Phone > System Update > to force your smartphone to check for the update and download it.

If you download and install Android 5.1 on your Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, let us know how it goes and what you think of it in the comments below.
