Three new Motorola handsets recently dropped by the FCC: the Moto G 2015, the Moto X "Kinzie" and what could be a new Droid smartphone.

Various rumors have been making rounds recently as regards Motorola's upcoming lineup of smartphones, and new listings in the FCC database suggest that three devices could make their debut soon.

Motorola Moto X 'Kinzie'

As a reminder, a purported Motorola Moto X "Kinzie" hit the FCC a few days ago, popping up with FCC ID IHDT56UC2 and featuring virtually all LTE bands in the U.S. except for the ones Verizon uses. A subsequent listing sports FCC ID IHDT56UC1 and mentions support for Verizon's LTE bands as well, suggesting that the Moto "Kinzie" will be available on all carriers in the U.S.

The Moto X "Kinzie" is expected to rock top-notch specs and features all around, a bigger body compared to the 2014 Verizon Droid Turbo powerhouse, LTE-A, MiMo Wi-Fi, as well as Turbo Charging capabilities. The device is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and could launch either as a new Moto X flagship or as a Droid Turbo successor, without the Verizo exclusivity.

The FCC listing suggests this handset will hit all four major carriers in the U.S., as it shows support for AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile. Smartphones that work with all carriers' networks are not that common, but "Kinzie" is apparently due to roll out in a big way. It remains to be seen whether it will indeed launch as Motorola's flagship smartphone for 2015, but support for all carriers does hint in this direction.

Additional FCC filings also hint at other upcoming smartphones from Motorola, albeit things are still a bit hazy for now. Motorola could be gearing up to launch new Moto G, Moto E, or Droid models, but the company has yet to make a formal announcement.

2015 Moto G (3rd Gen) Or Mid-Range Droid?

A device with FCC ID IHDT56UB1, for instance, could be either a new-generation Moto G (3rd Gen, 2015) or a new Droid bound for Verizon. The handset seems to feature have the necessary band support for Big Red's network, but it doesn't appear to have Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Considering that high-end flagships typically come with Wi-Fi 802.11ac, this device could launch in the mid-range category of the smartphone market.

The handset also appears to have a removable back plate, which suggests that it could be a new Moto G. Motorola has so far allowed for some level of customization with its Moto G and Moto E series by offering interchangeable back plates, but this model doens't look like a Moto E.

At the same time, this model could also turn out to be a new Droid iteration, potentially a new Droid Mini device, as it could sport a 5.2-inch screen. This display size could be a bit big for the Moto G series, so it would be a reasonable assumption to think it could launch as a Droid.

2015 Moto G (3rd Gen) for Sprint

Lastly, a third device with FCC ID IHDT56QG6 seems to be another mid-range offering, potentially the 2015 Moto G (3rd Gen) for Sprint. This model also appears without Wi-Fi 802.11ac and it also has a removable back. In terms of dimensions, this model seems very close to the 2014 Moto G (2nd Gen).

It's not clear yet just which Motorola devices these new FCC listings stand for, but one thing's for sure: at least three new Motorola smartphones are on their way and their appearance at the FCC suggests an imminent debut.
