T-Mobile is on a roll to increase its subscriber base. The U.S. carrier has introduced a new family plan that offers 10GB of data each to four members of a family for $120 per month.

The price of the family plan varies on the number of lines taken. For the first two line, customers have to pay $50 each. The third line comes at an additional $20, while the fourth line is free.

To benefit from the latest family plan promo, customers will have to sign up before Labor Day, Sept. 7. Customers will also have the option to double the data limit to 20GB by paying $10 for a line.

John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile, also took the opportunity to compare the company's latest family plan with Verizon's More Everything plan. Legere explained that Verizon's data sharing plan is available for $80 per month, but customers have only 10GB to share among them.

Customers cannot use any of the data until they pay additional "line access" fees, which pushes the actual cost for four lines to $140 per month. Customers under Verizon's More Everything plan will have to pay $360 per month if they want 40GB data.

Customers who opt for the latest T-Mobile family data plan can get an additional 30GB at $20.

"Why share Verizon's 10GB with everyone when you can have 10GB of America's fastest 4G LTE all to yourself?" said Legere. "The way the big carriers offer shared data is just a scheme concocted to trick customers into over-paying or to slam them with overage fees. We're bringing sanity to family plans and peace of mind to data-hungry families—because that's what the Un-carrier does."

T-Mobile also highlighted that the carrier will not charge customers for going over the 10GB data allotment. However, the carrier will throttle down speed. On the other hand, Verizon charges customers $15 per GB if the shared data goes beyond 10GB.

Customers can enroll for the new T-Mobile family plan from July 15.

In early 2013, T-Mobile launched a new streamlined plan structure for new customers called Un-carrier, which subsidized handset cost and dropped lengthy contracts. The initiative attracted many customers to switch to T-Mobile. With the new family data sharing plan, T-Mobile may attract more customers to its network.
