Geekbench benchmarks for an unspecified LG device indicates that the handset, whatever it is, will have the stuff to serve as a standard bearer. However, it's unclear if the mobile device will wave Google or LG's flag.

Google has again called on LG, along with Huawei, to crank out a smartphone based on the search company's latest specifications. Google is expected to introduce the 2015 Nexus 5 this fall, so the timing of the mysterious LG specs fit cozily within that timeline.

The benchmarks didn't reveal enough about the handset to bet on it being this year's version of Google's Nexus smartphone. The handset's model number, LGE LG-F600L, follows LG's branding schemes, but it's a codename and it could be meant to cover up the scent of the Nexus 5.

If it isn't the new Nexus 5, it could be the rumored pro edition of LG's lately launched flagship, the G4. But the mystery handset's specs don't quite match up to what's rumored to power the unannounced LG G4 Pro.

The LG G4 Pro is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's top-shelf Snapdragon 820 processor, which indicates that the mystery handset, the LGE LG-F600L will be a part of a completely different line such as the Optimus.

A few days ago, freelance journalist and infamous leaker Evan Bass indicated that the Nexus 5 2015 would have a Snapdragon 820 under its hood.

Or if it is a part of the G series, it could be a follow-up or variation of the LG G Flex 2 that was released at the start of the year -- then again, it seems a bit early to be this far along with a follow-up to the G Flex 2, which isn't the star of the G series.

The LGE LG-F600L will run on Android 5.1.1. Lollipop, the latest version of the mobile OS right now, and it'll be powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4 GHz per core. And the unannounced handset will be fitted with 4 GB of RAM.
