A YouTube user has recreated the opener of the popular American television series "Game of Thrones" and mashed it up with one of the most-played video games of its time, "Super Mario World."

YouTube user NickspolosionFX created the more than 2-minute video of the opening sequence of the fantasy drama television series and named it "Video Game of Thrones: Super Mario World." The video shows the opening sequence of "Game of Thrones" with the "Super Mario World" map. The user has not just created a video but also taken a step ahead and made the 8-bit retro-themed version of TV series theme song.

NickspolosionFX efforts are commendable as he has made the video in a very realistic way, especially where some parts of the "Super Mario World" levels rise up from the ground, very similar to how it appears on "Game of Thrones." Moreover, the user has also used the same camera angles that were used in the opening sequence of the show to recreate the video.

The video was released May 12 and since then has already been viewed thousands of times. Many viewers have praised the video; however, some viewers think that there was potential for better recreation.

"Very well done visually. But it kinda bothered me that the music was in 8-bit style when 'SMW' is a 16-bit game. There have been plenty of music remixes with the style of 'Super Mario World's' music, so I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing for the GOT theme," commented a YouTube user.

One YouTube user also commented that the video mash-up was "one of the best ideas of 2014."

NickspolosionFX also posted a second video which shows a side-by-side comparison of the original opening sequence of "Game of Thrones" along with the recreated version of "Super Mario World."

"This is way more impressive with the side-by-side," commented a user on the comparison video.

With many comments on board, it will be interesting to see if NickspolosionFX releases another recreated mash-up version of the opening sequence of "Game of Thrones."
