Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) fans can breathe a sigh of relief as developer Rockstar Games has outed a patch to fix the frame rate issues affecting the game's PC users.

A week after reports of the PC version of GTA V suffering from "considerable" frame rate issues emerged, Rockstar outed a patch that will counter the problem.

For the unfamiliar, when Rockstar updated GTA V's desktop variant to version 1.28 in early July, gamers started complaining of issues with the frame rate once it went live. Gamers noted that when playing GTA Online, they were experiencing a lower frame rate.

Now the developer has issued a title update that fixes the troubling niggles, adding that it too received reports that performance was affected when deploying Story Mode mods to Title Update 1.28. The decreased performance issue has also been addressed.

"This issue has now been resolved with a Title Update," revealed Rockstar's support. "Please make sure you are connected to the Internet at boot to download and install the update."

The patch weighs 91MB and will improve the frame rate. However, Rockstar cautioned that gamers who installed single player mods may get affected.

The developer also reminded gamers that using mods on GTA Online could not only give some players an unfair advantage, but also cause griefing and disruptions to the gameplay. Rockstar asserted that its primary goal was to protect against the same.

"As a reminder, mods are still unauthorized and as such, Title Updates may cause Story Mode mods to behave in unexpected ways because they are not supported or tested, and players run them at their own risk," noted the support team.

The Title Update comes at a time when GTA Online offers gamers additional incentives, such as cash bonuses and double rewards points. Players also get additional benefits for finishing objectives such as The Humane Labs Raid heist.
