Rocksteady loves Easter eggs. They've filled their Batman: Arkham series to the brim with DC universe references and surprises. Batman: Arkham Knight is no exception, but this specific Easter egg will require players to wait three more months...or travel into the future.

Spoilers below! If you want to be genuinely surprised on Halloween, best turn back now.

For real though. Last chance.

If you've played the game, you'll know Batman: Arkham Knight takes place on Halloween. Numerous characters make reference to it over the course of the game. So what happens when you actually play Batman: Arkham Knight on Oct. 31?

Assuming you've already captured Man-Bat, boot up the game and grapple around the city. You will eventually find another jump-scare encounter with Man-Bat. Turns out the winged villain has escaped from Gotham Police Department. Journey back to the police station to get the scoop on what happened. You can watch the video below to see the whole scenario play out.

Pretty cool, huh? But wait a second. It's not Halloween, so how did the folks behind Batman Arkham Videos discover this date specific Easter egg? They turned the internal clock on their PC to Oct. 31 to trick the game into believing it's Halloween. The trick will also work on consoles, for gamers who don't want to wait a few months.

Rocksteady is no stranger to date-specific Easter eggs, which is probably what gave Batman Arkham Videos the idea to adjust their computer's clocks. In Batman: Arkham City, there are a number of Easter eggs and event an achievement for talking to the imprisoned Calendar Man on a variety of different holidays.
