Basketball superstar LeBron James, or "King James" as he is widely known as, is further branching out into the world of television, film and original digital content.

According to reports, the multi-talented 6-foot-8 Cleveland Cavaliers star and his company SpringHill Entertainment have entered into an agreement with Warner Bros. Entertainment. The content creation deal encompasses potential film, TV and digital properties projects.

LeBron James himself announced the agreement yesterday, together with his SpringHill Entertainment co-founder Maverick Carter as well as Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara.

Clearly passionate about the creation of this new partnership, Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara said: "LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his partner, Maverick Carter, and SpringHill Entertainment. The combination of LeBron's global media presence and Warner Bros.' unmatched production and distribution expertise is a big win for fans everywhere."

Although none of the parties involved unveiled any specifics about the projects that are likely to come from this union, speculations started up right away.

Rumors are buzzing that James might appear in Space Jam 2 alongside Bugs Bunny. This is not so far-fetched, as Michael Jordan starred in the 1996 Warner Bros. production of the original and highly popular Space Jam. LeBron would seem like a logical choice for a sequel. To further stir the fire, Warner Bros. has just filed new trademarks for Space Jam. So the combination of that and the partnership with James and his company does make you wonder and hope.

This would not be NBA pro James' first venture into the world of movies. Just a week ago, he had his film debut in the romantic comedy Trainwreck, costarring Amy Schumer and Bill Hader. King James played himself and received strong positive feedback from critics for his comedic performance.

The acting talent is obviously there, and with the latest partnership with Warner Bros., this basketball superstar might well soon turn into a movie superstar. Let's sit back and see how the events will unfold. With a bit of luck we'll soon see LeBron "King" James in Space Jam 2.
