With almost 20,000 tweets and nearly 34 million followers, Kim Kardashian is no stranger to Twitter. Like countless other users, she got fed up with the social network's inability to let users edit posted tweets and so took it upon herself to email Twitter and give them a piece of her mind.

Kardashian sent her email early Saturday morning, tweeting "I just emailed Twitter to see if they can add an edit feature so that when u misspell something u don't have to delete & repost Let's see." The tweet has gotten more than 22,000 retweets and over 53,000 favorites just several hours after being posted, showing just how many share the celebrity's sentiments.

Jack Dorsey, Twitter co-founder, was soon on the issue, responding to Kardashian's tweet with "great idea! We're always looking at ways to make things faster and easier" a couple of hours after her post.

Twitter users have long wanted to be able to edit tweets but there's no sign of the feature being implemented any time soon. It may have to do though with the purported risks that come with editing a tweet, such as the meaning and appeal of a tweet being changed, and favorites and retweets being manipulated.

Other social networks have wrestled with the idea of allowing users to edit their posts but have opted to allow it as its benefits outweighed possible abuse.

Kardashian isn't the first to complain about not being able to edit tweets and she certainly won't be the last. However, she may be the first person of significant clout to try and do something about it. Whether her endorsement has weight or not is yet to be seen so, for now, Twitter users will still have to live with deleting and reposting if they want to edit a tweet.

Given Jack Jorsey's swift response to Kardashian, Twitter users have turned to asking Kim to get their own requests addressed, hoping having a Kardashian backing will give them a big push. The requests ranged from serious issues, like calling to investigate the death of Sandra Bland, to the more mundane, like asking Instagram to offer a zoom in option.
