AT&T has announced its first smartphone with HD Voice, the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. The smartphone will be available online and in retail stores beginning May 23.

AT&T promised it would be adding HD Voice as a service and the company just officially announced the first smartphone to ship with HD Voice support is the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. AT&T has listed some of the Galaxy S4 mini's top features on its blog, along with a video explaining HD Voice (below):

  • Intuitive camera interface supports numerous shooting modes to enhance photos taken by even the most novice photographer.
  • WatchOn allows you to browse content by genre, search by title or receive recommendations based on your interests.
  • Smart RemoteIntegrated Infrared (IR) controller allows your smartphone to act as a remote control for a television, digital video recorder, home theatre and more.
  • Easy Mode gives you the ability to simplify the home screen by placing only the most essential items at your fingertips.
  • SBeam enables you to transfer pictures and videos between other S Beam enabled devices.
  • 1900 mAh Li-ion Battery gives you up to 14 hours Talk Time and 10.4 days standby.
  • NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled and is compatible with Isis Mobile Wallet.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy 4 mini features a 4.3-inch 540 x 960 Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 256 pixels per inch. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat along with Samsung's TouchWiz UI. The S4 mini is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, an Adreno 305 GPU, and 1.5GB of RAM.

Its camera capabilities consist of an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED Flash and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. The Galaxy S4 mini ships with 8GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that supports up to 64GB microSD cards. Samsung has included a removable 1900 mAh battery that will provide up to 12 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 mini with HD Voice will be available in choice of Black Mist or Valentine Pink for $49.99 when signing a new two-year contract online and in retail stores on May 23.
