New details regarding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S5 Mini have appeared on GFXBench revealing the mini smartphone's specs.

It appears as if Samsung is experiencing déjà vu when it comes to the smartphones that the company plans to launch this summer. Last year the company had scheduled a press event where it had planned on officially launching the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S4 Zoom. Days ahead of the event all three smartphones leaked in the form of images and complete spec sheets forcing the company to officially announce the smartphones via press release instead of using the event to present them to the world.

Samsung is expected to continue the spin off trend it began with the Galaxy S4 and is planning to launch the Galaxy S5 Prime, Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy S5 Active in the coming weeks. We just reported on a leaked video of the AT&T Galaxy S5 Active, which was shown off in a detailed hands-on video. We can now report that the Galaxy S5 Mini has made an appearance in the GFXBench database.

The GFXBench database reveals that the Galaxy S5 Mini is going by model number SM-G800H and will feature a not so mini 4.8-inch 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display. The device tested was running Android 4.4.2, was powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and Adreno 305 GPU (graphics processing unit). It will ship with 16GB of internal storage with 12GB being available to the user, a microSD expansion slot and pack in 1.5GB of RAM.

The Galaxy S5 Mini will reportedly boast an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and face detection and a 2-megapixel front facing camera for video chat. Both shooters will be able to capture 1080p Full HD video. The S5 Mini will also reportedly follow in its older sibling's footsteps by being both waterproof and dust-resistant.

Since the Galaxy S5 Prime is rumored to be announced in June, it's very likely the Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy S5 Active could be unveiled alongside Samsung's first QHD smartphone. We'll be sure to keep you posted as information becomes available.
