Lexus made a massive update to what owners can touch and see in the LX 570 while making no changes to the underpinnings and engine of the biggest SUV in its lineup.

For people looking to purchase a new SUV, the 2016 LX 570 is essentially an all-new model for a vehicle, especially with the modernization of the SUV's interior and built-in technology.

Exteriors

The front end of the 2016 LX 570 features a larger version of the spindle grille of Lexus, with added brackets located at each slat of the grille compared to other versions of the design in other Lexus vehicles.

The headlights of the 2016 LX 570 also follow the recent design of Lexus with the upended L-shaped LEDs running along the bottom of the cases for the headlights. The same L-shape is also used on both sides of the bottom bumper housing for the fog lights.

The 2016 LX 570 comes with the standard 20-inch wheels, with customers also given the option to purchase 21-inch wheels.

Interiors

The previous LX 570 models felt outdated compared to the Escalade of Cadillac and Range Rovers, making the vehicle not feel like a luxury SUV. The 2016 model overhauled the interior, with a new dashboard, gauges, center console, steering wheel, and practically everything else.

The upgrades to onboard technology are also very significant, with a 12.3-inch display now on the center console. The display utilizes the Remote Touch interface developed by Lexus, which is basically a joystick with buttons that allows drivers to navigate the display.

The 2106 LX 570 also comes with a sound system with nine speakers, with the option to upgrade this to a surround sound system with 19 speakers. Drivers with iPhones could use Siri Eyes Free with the SUV, but there is no support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Customers are also given the option to add an entertainment package for the rear seats, which includes 11.6-inch displays.

Performance

The 2016 LX 570 keeps its body-on-frame chasses and the 5.7-liter V8 engine, with power rated at 383 horsepower and 403 pounds-feet of torque, giving the SUV the capability to tow up to 7,000 pounds.

The new model, however, replaces the six-speed transmission of the 2015 model with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which would help the combined mileage of the SUV. The combined miles per gallon figure was rated at 14 mpg for the 2015 model.

The 2016 LX 570 features an adaptive suspension to provide drivers with maximum comfort with the option for more aggressive handling. The vehicle also comes with a Drive Mode Select system to make adjustments to the vehicle's drivetrain for either more fuel-efficient trips or sportier driving.

The 2016 Lexus LX 570 will hit showrooms by the end of the year, but pricing details have not yet been revealed.
