They may be the new faces of Star Trek, but they will never forget who boldly went before them. In a touching tribute to the late actor, Leonard Nimoy, the cast of Star Trek Beyond starred in a video to pay homage to the original Spock's work both on-screen and off.

Nimoy was a supporter of many charities, such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization leading the way in research on child cancer, which the cast urges fans to donate to.

The video was created for the Star Trek: To Boldly Go Omaze Campaign, whose goal is to raise money for nine global organizations. In addition to St. Jude's, Brave Beginnings, Camp Sunshine, Direct Relief, Heaven Homes, KidsCan, Koreatown Youth & Community Center, Make-A-Wish and Time Is Precious are also beneficiaries of the campaign.

Susan Nimoy, Leonard Nimoy's widow, chose St. Jude for the campaign on her late husband's behalf because she knew how dear to his heart the organization was. As reported when he passed away in February 2015, the actor had sent a check to them a month prior in the amount of $10,000.

"Even in his very hard, last days he was thinking of how to help others," the National Outreach Director of St. Jude's, Marlo Thomas, wrote on his Facebook wall at the time.

Zachary Quinto, who plays the new Spock in the Star Trek movie franchise reboot, leads the video, speaking about his mentor over a montage of images of Nimoy.

"Leonard was an actor, a champion of the arts, and a true inspiration to so many. It was an honor and a privilege to know him and to call him a friend," he says.

To give fans more incentive to help the organizations featured in the Star Trek: To Boldly Go campaign, anyone who donates will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a walk-on role in the upcoming film Star Trek: Beyond which is currently being directed by Justin Lin.

The Omaze website allows donors to choose the amount they wish to send, similar to how a Kickstarter campaign has various rewards and levels of funding, and the higher the amount donated, the more chances of winning as well.

The Leonard Nimoy tribute is the final in the Star Trek: To Boldly Go Omaze Campaign series. Donations will be accepted for five more days.
