LG is set to enhance your tablet or smartphone experience thanks to its latest offering, the flexible Rolly Keyboard, which can literally roll up and fit into your pocket.

The new keyboard was announced by the company on Thursday, Aug. 27, and is being touted by LG as the "industry's first solid rollable wireless portable keyboard."

Compatible with both smartphones and tablets, the Rolly Keyboard is composed of ABS plastic and "impact-resistant" polycarbonate and not silicon, like currently available flexible keyboards. Therefore, the Rolly Keyboard with model number KBB-700 is able to fold and shape-shift into a stick that can be slipped into your backpack or purse.

The Rolly Keyboard features a four-stage folding procedure, which makes it transform into a stick that can be carried easily.

"LG Rolly Keyboard is just one of the many premium input devices we'll be unveiling in the coming months as we expand our accessories offerings. The goal was to create a product that could add more value to LG smartphones and tablets at the same time offering a unique design proposition that hadn't been explored before," noted LG's Seo Young-jae, vice-president in charge of Innovative Personal Devices.

The new LG keyboard will be able to offer support for tablets that have a maximum display of 10 inches in diameter. Typing on the accessory is pretty easy thanks to the high-contrast keys and the key pitch, which is 17mm instead of the regular 18mm ones touted by PCs.

The keyboard also has two robust arms that support tablets and smartphones and aid them in staying upright. When one unfolds the Rolly Keyboard, the auto pairing function gets activated, which in turn helps to connect to two different gadgets at the same time through Bluetooth 3. One can also toggle between the two devices via a key press. The keyboard is powered by a AAA battery and is slated to debut in the U.S. in September.

LG will unveil the Rolly Keyboard's pricing and availability details at the IFA 2015 in Germany next week.
