The summer is coming to an end, ladies and gentlemen, and so are the summer movies. The big question right now that needs an answer is: which movies made the most money domestically in the United States?

Several hit films came out in the summer, but we're only going to look at the top 10 in terms of monies made at the U.S. domestic box office. For those who follow the movie industry on a regular basis, it shouldn't take much to tell which films are in the top 5, but the top 10 might be a little difficult.

At the top spot, we have Jurassic World, a movie that managed to make a whopping $643.3 million at the box office. Not even Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, which comes in at the number 2 spot could keep up with this bad boy.

Age of Ultron, from what we've come to understand, made $457.7 million. With the huge opening the film had experienced, no one had expected the likes of Jurassic Park to take the top spot for the summer.

Then again, Age of Ultron was a weak movie with a disappointing villain in Ultron. Marvel Studios seriously needs to work on its villains, because the whole thing is becoming a sick joke.

In third position, we have Inside Out, a movie that walked away with a good $344,671,046. Minions followed closely behind in the fourth spot with $325,052,310, and coming in at fifth place is Pitch Perfect 2 with $183,785,415.

Here's the full list:

    1. Jurassic World: $643,269,755

    2. Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron: $457,744,064

    3. Inside Out: $344,671,046

    4. Minions: $325,052,310

    5. Pitch Perfect 2: $183,785,415

    6. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation: $170,968,984

    7. Ant-Man: $169,484,928

    8. San Andreas: $154,259,016

    9. Mad Max: Fury Road: $153,020,125

    10. Straight Outta Compton: $135,355,085

We have to say, we're a bit surprised Mad Max made the list. The movie was splendid, but it didn't even come in at number 1 at the box office due to Fifty Shades of Grey. At least that terrible movie fell off the radar pretty quickly, and that can be only viewed as a good thing.
