The Inhumans are coming. In fact, one of them is already working for S.H.I.E.L.D.

In Season 2 of ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Skye's true identity was revealed as Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, the super-powered agent from Marvel Comics who can create powerful tremors. In an interesting twist on the comics, the TV show's Daisy is an Inhuman.

As Season 3 begins, it looks like Skye is ready to embrace her true identity and lineage. In this first teaser — woefully short at just 30 seconds long — she introduces herself to a fellow Inhuman as Daisy. It seems the Inhumans are experiencing a sudden surge in population growth, which puts a lot more on the table for Skye/Daisy and her boss Phil Coulson to deal with.

You'll also get your first glimpse at a dangerous new Inhuman named Lash, played by a heavily made-up Matthew Willig (he's the silhouetted guy with quills coming out of the back of his head). In the comics, Lash is a lone wolf character who, after being exposed to the Terrigen Mists, came to believe that not every Inhuman was worthy of the abilities they bestow. So, he went out searching for the new Inhumans being activated all over the world (thanks to a "Terrigen bomb" set off by Inhuman leader Black Bolt), and judge whether they were worthy of having those new abilities. If he decided they weren't, he executed them.

Sounds like a path that will put him on a collision course with Skye. Lash's powers allow him to convert energy from virtually any source and then blast that energy from his hands. Doesn't sound all that bad until you see the effects his powers have on people: drawing power from a person disintegrates them.

Ouch.

A few other developments can be seen in the teaser, but we'll let you discover those for yourself.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Sept. 29, 2015 on ABC.
