FX released the first official trailer for the latest season of American Horror Story on Thursday, giving fans a chance to meet the characters who will be checking into the hotel.

While previous teasers gave us a glimpse of some of the creepy residents of the hotel, the new trailer for American Horror Story: Hotel lets us see some of our favorite actors and newcomers to the series in action. And from the looks of it, you never know just whom you might meet in the halls of this hotel.

The trailer is hauntingly captivating — a mix of The Shining and something from the mind of American serial killer H.H. Holmes, who was known for creating a "castle" with secret torture chambers.

Titled "Hallways," the elevator opens to reveal the dingy and run-down appearance of the hotel, with a creepy child running down the hall. Then there's a trippy sequence that includes a blender, a person sewed into a mattress and yes, lots more children. We see Kathy Bates in her new role holding up a ring of keys and Angela Bassett walking a man on a leash who wears a collar around his neck.

While some scenes look flashy and immaculate – like the disco era-esque hallway Bassett walks down and the bleached white room the ghostly children play in – viewers are invited to see the more seedy parts of the hotel, such as a dirty laundry room that includes a chute perfect for throwing away, well, whatever the hotel residents might need to get rid of.

Fans finally get a glimpse of Mother Monster in her role as a rich socialite. Lady Gaga is seen with her back to the camera, walking down the aisle in what appears to mirror a wedding dress. Her two lovers – played by Finn Wittrock and Matt Bomer – walk on either side of her down the corridor. For a split second, Gaga turns to the camera — revealing dark makeup against pale skin and a very long white wig.

The cast of AHS: Hotel will also feature Sarah Paulson, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O'Hare, Cheyenne Jackson and Evan Peters.

Produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Ryan Murphy will return as AHS showrunner, writer, director and executive producer, alongside Brad Falchuk, who serves as co-creator, executive producer and writer for the new season.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on October 7 on FX. Meet the full cast in the trailer below.
