A New York hipster saved his iPhone and wallet from being stolen in a late-night mugging by wearing skinny jeans. The jeans were so tight that the muggers were unable to pry the phone and wallet from their victim's pocket.

While fashionistas and hipsters keep the skinny jeans trend alive, most New Yorkers avoid the painted-on pants look for various reasons. Lots of men and women find the look unflattering, with some considering it too feminine. Others just consider the look wrong for their particular body type, considering the fact that, to look good in skinny jeans, one has to be relatively tall and lanky, that is, skinny, themselves. Others may like the look but just consider the super-tight fabric and sizing way too constrictive and downright uncomfortable.

Fortunately, German Sent is a card-carrying skinny jeans wearer, because the hip pants saved him from losing his wallet and iPhone to a trio of thieves who were unable to pry the goods from his tight-fitting pants. Sent, a 27-year-old architect who lives in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, NY, was walking home in the wee hours of the morning when he was accosted by three would-be muggers. The wannabe thieves threw Sent to the ground and began searching his pockets for valuables.

Luckily, Sent was wearing his size 30 Kenneth Cole skinny jeans that night, and they were so tightly fitted to his body that the thieves could not access his iPhone or wallet.

"They couldn't even get a finger in my pocket. " explained Sent. They were just arguing amongst themselves ... like, 'Get into his front pocket! Get into his left pocket!' And the other would say, 'I can't get it! I can't!'"

The group of muggers gave up and ran off. It's a good thing these particular thugs weren't wielding a gun, however, because if they were, they could have ordered Sent to remove his jeans, and the victim would have not only been without his iPhone and wallet, but also left wandering the streets without pants.
