The Nexus 9, which is currently posted on Amazon and has a $424 price tag for the 32GB model and $335 dollars for the 16GB one, is now down $239 dollars for the 16GB and $287 dollars for the 32GB version thanks to HTC's 27-hour "Fall Sale" promotion that spans from September 14 9 p.m. PST until 11:59 a.m. PST today, Sept. 15.

The HTC Nexus 9 tablet variants were originally priced at $599 dollars and $399 dollars, respectively, when they were released in November 2014. The prices then were justified by the technical specifications - an 8.9-inch tablet powered by NVIDIA Tegra K1 2.3 GHz Processor, 2 GB of RAM, 8MP main camera, 1.6MP front-facing camera and 18 hours of battery life.

The biggest technical feature, however, is the size. The Nexus 9 is smaller than the Samsung Nexus 10 and bigger than the Asus Nexus 7. The dimensions and weight are more comparable to the iPad Air 2, which the Nexus 9 is pitted against.

However, it does come with shortcomings. HTC does not port the Nexus 9 models with expandable memory and hence, it is stuck with whatever amount of memory it was shipped with. In relation to this, the 32GB variant will be the wiser choice, especially with the one-day deal prices.

Aside from the Nexus 9, HTC has also chopped 25 percent off the price of the One M9. The 4G LTE smartphone, which is also equipped with a 20MP main camera, is now listed for $649, whether with a mobile network carrier or unlocked. The developer option is also offered for the same price.

"Fall Sale" also puts the HTC RE camera and several of the brand's proprietary accessories at 50 percent of their original prices.

HTC will only ship out the orders to shipping addresses within the United States and the District of Columbia. The electronics manufacturer also notes that the current promo cannot be combined with other deals offered or redeemed for cash.
