Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad has teamed up with T-Mobile to offer a new smartphone called Rogue for the pocket-friendly price tag of $50.

On Monday, Sept. 21, Coolpad announced that Rogue will be launched on Sept. 30 and it will become the first product made by the company that will be available at T-Mobile stores and online.

Coolpad may not be a well-known global brand, but it is very popular in the smartphone market in China. The company has recently started its global expansion, and the latest partnership with T-Mobile is its first ever with a U.S. carrier.

"We are extremely excited that Coolpad can bring our 'Live Smart' motto of providing cool technology, easy-to-use interface, affordable prices and attractive designs to T-Mobile customers," says Charlie Parke, the VP of Coolpad Technologies.

The Coolpad Rogue will be available only for $49.99, which T-Mobile hopes will attract many new customers to its network.

For the price, customers cannot expect impressive specs. The Rogue comes with a 4-inch WVGA touch display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. A dual-core 1.1GHz Adreno 304 processor and 1GB of RAM power the handset.

The Rogue is equipped with a 2 MP primary camera and a 0.3 MP selfie camera. The handset includes 4 GB of on-board storage with the option to increase to a further 32 GB with a microSD card. The smartphone also has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Micro USB connectivity.

The battery capacity of the Coolpad Rogue is not known but T-Mobile claims that the handset will offer up to six hours of usage time and up to 200 hours of standby time.

The upcoming Coolpad mobile phone will measure 126.5 x 64.4 x 13.2mm and will come running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop straight out of the box.

The Coolpad Rogue may be used as a spare handset by many people. The phone may also attract parents who want to keep in touch with their children via a smartphone but do not want to spend a lot of money on an expensive handset.
