Fans of the upcoming Fallout 4 should be glad to know that the game will be released with no DLC exclusivity to any console-making companies.

Bethesda Game Studios confirmed that they are releasing the title on all formats at the same time.

The announcement came following a query that was made over Twitter.

Pete Hines, Bethesda marketing executive, immediately responded by sending out this tweet:

The game's non-exclusivity feature to any console indicates a huge shift for the title. It should be remembered that when Fallout 3's DLC was released, it was initially available to Xbox 360 and Games for Windows. It eventually became available to PS3.

The trend continued with the release of the Dead Money DLC add-on of Fallout: New Vegas wherein the DLC launched initially on Xbox 360 and then was made available to PS3 two months later

Earlier in September, Bethesda confirmed that a Fallout 4 Season Pass will also be available and will have a retail cost of $30. Players who are purchasing the game's Season Pass will be entitled to all of the Fallout 4 DLC future releases.

"Since we're still hard at work on the game, we don't know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year," said Bethesda. "Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you'll get it all with the Season Pass."

Bethesda's announcement received a number of positive responses from Twitter users who expressed their relief of the game's non-exclusivity to any platform upon release.

Bethesda will also bring "regular free updates" to the game, intended in part to address issues as they come along as well as to introduce new features.

"We'll work with all of you to figure out what new things you'd love to see added to Fallout 4, whether they are small tweaks or new features," added Bethesda.

Fallout 4 is scheduled to release on Nov. 10, 2015, with the first DLC to come out in early 2016. The latter will include the game's Creation Kit which will allow designers to create mods for the game.
