We've known for a while now that Game of Thrones season six will feature a major flashback scene, one involving Ned Stark, the Tower of Joy and maybe, just maybe, the secrets of Jon Snow's parentage.

What we don't know for certain is how this flashback will play out on screen, but new details from the set seem to confirm that season six's flashback might not be so much a flashback as it is a vision.

Possible spoilers below! You've been warned.

The show is on location at the Castillo de Zafra in Campillo de Dueñas, Spain, seeming to definitively confirm that the show will include the Tower of Joy, where Eddard Stark and four other men battled against King Aerys' Kingsguard to rescue Ned's sister Lyanna. A Spanish paper, Los Siete Reinos, has been following the production from the nearby town of Teruel, where the cast and crew are staying, and they have some new details that seem to indicate a number of unexpected characters may be making an appearance.

The first is Bran. Los Siete Reinos (via Game of Thrones fan-site Watchers on the Wall) reports that Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran on the show, is on location. Last time we saw Bran was at the end of season four. He and the Reed twins had just reached the lair of the Three-Eyed Raven, who promise to instruct Bran to control his visions.

It seems then that the Tower of Joy flashback may not be a flashback at all, but rather a vision of Bran, who has now learned to control his power. This is still unconfirmed, but it seems to make the most sense given the circumstances.

Los Siete Reinos also reports two previously unseen actresses are on hand as well. We can only assume one will be Lyanna Stark, but who might the other woman be? Watchers on the Wall suggests it could be Ashara Dayne, the sister of Legendary knight Arthur Dayne, or Wylla, the wetnurse to Arthur and Ashara's brother Edric. Considering Arthur Dayne plays a pivotal role in the events of the Tower of Joy, it would make sense to have Wylla on hand, especially if Ned finds Lyanna dying in childbirth, as has long been speculated. Wylla is often cited as Jon's mother in George R.R. Martin's books as well, but it is still unclear if she truly the bastard of Winterfell's mother.

All will be revealed in due time. Game of Thrones season six is expected to premiere in the spring of 2016. In the meantime, let the fan speculation run rampant.
