A few days after Apple's new flagship handsets already hit stores and after Google debuted its Nexus smartphones, the South Korean handset maker LG is now taking the wraps off its new smartphone which is designed to win over the hearts of technophiles: the V10.

LG unveiled on Thursday, Oct. 1, its Android phone V10, which boasts two displays, two front cameras, along with more impressive features.

“The LG V10 was designed from the ground up primarily as a multimedia smartphone for the sharing ecosystem,” said the president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Juno Cho. “We heard from many customers that until the G4, they weren’t comfortable going on vacation or outings without a separate camera. With the V10, we hope to do for video what the G4 did for photographs.”

The smartphone's second, independent screen inset can be spotted above the device's 5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display. A user can set the second screen to display the battery icon, time, weather and date once the main screen is off. Meanwhile, when the main screen is on, the second display can be set up as a launching area for shortcuts or for the user's fave apps.

The second screen is particularly beneficial when the user receives a text or a call while busy watching a movie or playing a game. This way, the user will not get distracted from enjoying whatever he or she is doing.

What makes the smartphone even more interesting is its pair of front cameras. Each shooter comes with 5 megapixels. According to LG, the shooters' main purpose is to allow the user to take a 120-degree wide-angle selfie. Once these cameras capture an image, the built-in software is responsible in stitching up the shots into a single image. The user can also utilize the Multi-View Recording functionality to capture a video with the use of the rear and the two front cameras.

What's more, the phone comes with a manual video mode, allowing users to manipulate the shutter speed, recording settings, ISO, frame rate, focus and white balance.

To come up with a more sophisticated video, the handset offers a Quick Video Editor to let the user add effects or trim videos, a Snap Video to combine mini video clips into a longer one, and a Steady Record which uses an electronic image stabilization.

Apart from the above-mentioned capabilities, the V10 claims to house the following features: microSD slot, 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, 2,560 x 1,440 main display, and 160 x 1,040 secondary display. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor and it runs on an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The V10 also comes with a 3,000mAh removable battery.

In October, the LG V10 will be launched in Korea. It will then land in the U.S., China, and key markets in Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East.

LG has yet to reveal the tag price of the V10.
