Android 6.0 Marshmallow is upgrading devices everywhere, and the Nexus devices were the first to receive it.

The carrier T-Mobile has announced when the new mobile OS from Google will be available for its phones. A sum of 17 tablets and phones stand by and wait for the Marshmallow's arrival, a process that T-Mobile details on its Update page.

The magenta carrier places every device that it sells into one of three categories: "Manufacturer Development," "T-Mobile Testing," and "Completed."

The first stage means the device manufacturer and T-Mobile have agreed that a new software update will be supported. The process moves forward to the second stage.

"During this stage, the device will go through T-Mobile certification process testing to make sure you get the best quality software possible," the carrier explains.

Finally, the third stage means the software has passed all tests and is downloadable.

Three of the four Google smartphone variants—Google Nexus 5, Google Nexus 7 and Google Nexus 9—qualify as completed. The fourth variant, Google Nexus 6, is still under T-Mobile testing.

Both HTC versions—HTC One M8 and HTC One M9—are under manufacturer development.

Similar to the HTC, the three LG phone models are in the manufacturer development stage. The LG G3, LG G4 and LG G Stylo will soon receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

According to the magenta mobile data network, Samsung's smartphones are all in the same manufacturer development phase. The models Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will receive the update soon.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow suits Samsung tablet fans as well, as Galaxy Tab S2 is also in manufacturer development.

A note to remember: there is a small chance for devices to encounter bugs that would stop the rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. So far, the mobile data carrier stands firm on the update's release for these devices.

T-Mobile has made it easy to keep track of the status of the updates on its Software Update page, where users can check in real time which phones and tablets receive the latest software. However, the company explains that there are some handsets and slates that will be missing from the online list.
