HP has announced a rebranding of its Connected Music service, which is now called HP Lounge, and will be offering unlimited streaming of artists signed to Universal Music.

The service is aimed at competing with the likes of Apple Music and Spotify, and in addition to users being able to stream the likes of Taylor Swift and Jessie J, HP will also be curating playlists in what the company is calling a "radio service."

Unfortunately, the service is only available to people using HP devices.

While it's certainly interesting that a company like HP is entering the music streaming business, companies like Apple and Spotify have largely monopolized the industry and aren't going away anytime soon.

While Apple is a relatively new player to music streaming, it has been able to capitalize on the number of people who own Apple devices, and even though it seems like HP is trying to do the same thing, HP's reach isn't anywhere near as far or trendy. Because of this, it's hard to imagine HP's music streaming service taking off anytime soon.

It's not yet known if HP is planning on bringing its music streaming service to any platforms besides HP devices.
