The just concluded New York Comic Con (NYCC) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center showcased not only upcoming films and series but also the talents of fans when it comes to dressing up as their favorite iconic (or not) characters. The cosplayers went all out with designing their costumes and many of them really stood out.

In the spirit of the Comic Con, and also as a way to disguise themselves, two actors playing iconic characters walked amongst the fans without being recognized because of their own costumes. Mark Rufalo, who plays Dr. Bruce Banner/The Hulk in "The Avengers" made his way around Javits Center and took photos with cosplayers while wearing a mask. Rufalo will also reprise his role as in "Thor: Ragnarok," which is slated for release in November 2017.

Had a great time at #comiccon2015 NYC! Thanks ComicCon for the Hospitality.

Another actor who had a great time and fooled cosplayers is none other than Jared Leto who played Joker in "The Suicide Squad," slated for release on Aug. 5, 2016. Leto dressed up as Rafiki, the wise Baboon from "The Lion King" and posted photos on his Instagram and Twitter accounts. He even posed with an unsuspecting and very lucky Joker cosplayer. This guy would probably be stunned when he recognizes himself in Leto's photo.

The cosplayers were not limited to American comic book characters, of course. British television, video game and even Tim Burton's characters came to life during the NYCC. The cosplayers were really motivated to stay faithful to their beloved character's look to be able to design their costumes down to the smallest detail and apply their make up as accurately as possible.

Of course, there were also some who were a little more liberal with how they reinterpreted the fictional characters but, hey, creativity is still key and having fun is part of the process.
