The long-rumored Android-powered BlackBerry Priv may pack a 21MP primary camera instead of an 18MP camera.

The BlackBerry Priv will be a slider phone and the first BlackBerry smartphone to run on the Android platform. The Canadian telecommunication equipment maker has not revealed any details about the upcoming handset but the Internet has many leaked images and specs of the BlackBerry Priv.

The latest buzz in the rumor mill is the probability of a Sony IMX 230 sensor in the upcoming mobile phone. The Motorola Moto X Style is equipped with the same Sony IMX230 sensor and has a 21MP rear-facing camera.

The new speculation about the Priv's camera comes courtesy of a Twitter user.

The BlackBerry Priv is expected to sport a 5.4-inch QHD screen with 2,560 x 1,440 QHD resolution and 554ppi. A hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor is estimated to power the device. The same Snapdragon chip also powers the LG G4. The Priv may also get 3GB of RAM.

The camera of the BlackBerry Priv will also get optical image stabilization (OIS), dual LED flash and fast focus to enhance picture quality. The handset is also expected to have a 5MP front-facing camera.

The BlackBerry smartphone may get 32GB of internal storage with the option to expand the memory with a microSD card.

The Priv will come running on Android 5.1 Lollipop straight out of the box. However, with the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow many smartphone enthusiasts would hope that the Priv comes preinstalled with the latest Android operating system.

Although the BlackBerry Priv will be a slider phone it is expected to be relatively thin, at least thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. A Reddit user claims to have had a chance to play with the unannounced BlackBerry Priv at a conference.

"At a conference I was at today, one of BlackBerry's executives had a 'Priv' which he let me play with for a bit. I must admit, it's a VERY nice device. It was actually thinner than my Note 5!" per the Reddit user. "It also seemed snappy and smooth and the keyboard was also very nice. It had full access to the Play store as you would expect and he had a few apps loaded."

The BlackBerry Priv is also estimated to have a premium price tag of $630. BlackBerry fans will have to wait to get more information on availability until the company officially launches the slider phone.
