Rumors of the upcoming iPhone 6 are flying thick and fast in the smartphone industry. A Japanese website shows a mockup of the Apple smartphone, which gives a peek into what the real thing could be.

Japanese website Nikkei has published an image of the rumored iPhone 6 and compared it to the existing iPhone 5. The mockup may not be the real thing, but it gives us a glimpse of what the iPhone 6 may look like. However, the mockup of the iPhone 6 also has some key aspects of the smartphone missing.

"The mockups that have popped-up so far have a low build quality. The home button doesn't fit perfectly, leaving a gap, and the display isn't seamlessly transitioning into the aluminum part. The guys over at Nikkei claim that this should not be the case, and that the iPhone 6 may arrive with a curved display that will fit perfectly into the aluminum shell, creating a seamless transition from one material to another," reports GForGames.

The current iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c sports a 4-inch display, which is considered small when compared to other top-end smartphones offered by rival companies. Previous rumors suggest that Apple will keep up with the current trend of bigger smartphones and launch the iPhone 6 two different sizes: 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches.

The iPhone 5 was the slimmest smartphone Apple had ever produced. The mockup image published by Nikkei, coupled with previous rumors, suggests that the speculated iPhone 6 will be even thinner than all its predecessors.

Nikkei suggests that the logo on the iPhone 6 will be different when compared to what appears in the iPhone 5s. However, the mockup of the iPhone 6 does not have any logo at the back of the smartphone. The mockup of the iPhone 6 also has a white strip on the back panel of the handset. However, reports suggest that the final design of the iPhone 6 will not include the white strip at all.

The latest iPhone 6 mockup is not the first and probably will not be the last before the official launch of the handset.

Apple is expected to launch the next-generation of the iPhone at an unannounced event in September this year. As usual, the company has not revealed any information on the upcoming iPhones, so iFans will have to take all rumors of the smartphone with a pinch of salt.
