Here are the latest updates we have on "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" ticket preorders.

Drop all your plans for Friday, Oct. 16, because whatever gig you have in mind isn't as important as preordering "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" tickets.

The final trailer for the film will be up online on the same day, after which, preorders for tickets will be available.

A report says that various theater chains will be selling tickets on the same day as well.

Recently, theater chain Cinemark posted a graphic by accident, detailing the presale. The post was taken down shortly thereafter. You can view the graphic (written in Portuguese) here.

The same report says that major U.S. theater chains have received ticketing information on "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." They are required to enter the information into the system by 8:00 a.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 16 for release at 12:00 p.m. ET to ticketing websites, although this doesn't necessarily mean that the tickets will go on sale to the general public at the said time.

Ticket prices vary, but it was reported that the $50 ticket includes that for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as well as the "Star Wars Marathon." The marathon will begin with "The Phantom Menace" on Dec. 17 at 4 a.m., and finish with "The Force Awakens" at 7 p.m., so be sure to stand by for that.

If all goes as announced, "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" tickets will be on preorder sale just under two months before its U.S. premiere. Although this may seem a tad extreme - "Phantom Menace" tickets only went on sale a week before its release - cinemas want to be prepared for anticipated movies such as this.

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is set to have its theatrical release on Dec. 18. "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is next in the lineup, to be released in December 2016; this is followed by "Star Wars: Episode VIII" in May 2017; then there's the Han Solo "Star Wars Anthology" film for May 2018; the "Star Wars: Episode IX" in 2019 and the third "Star Wars Anthology" film in 2020.
